How do I verify an AIFD record?

Search the public register by AIFD identifier or organisation name. Check the subject, status, scope, jurisdiction, validity and decision notice. If the live register is unavailable, retry before relying on a record.

Does an AIFD identifier prove accreditation?

Accepted Answer

No. A correctly formatted identifier is not proof of accreditation. A published record and its current status, scope and validity must be checked.

What does festival accreditation assess?

Covers eligibility, programming governance, jury independence, awards integrity, public disclosure and accredited operating scope. Accreditation confirms governance and operating conformity—not artistic merit.

What is the difference between membership and accreditation?

Membership is a relationship of participation. Accreditation is a separate assessment, and a partnership has its own agreed scope.

How do I apply?

Understand the purpose, requirements and preparation before starting. An application is a request for review, not a grant of status. Prepare your legal name, registration evidence, operating address, responsible contacts and authority to submit. Request the applicable fee schedule and an assessment timetable from the secretariat. Complaints and appeals are free under the published review guide. A submission does not guarantee a positive decision.

Where can I find standards and appeals information?

Raise a service concern, ask for a record correction or challenge a decision under the published review procedure. REV clause 11 provides a 30-day window after notification of a decision and a 60-day appeal conclusion period after filing.
