1. The service
This site publishes the federation's standards, its public register of accreditation decisions, and a verification service for AIFD identifiers, and receives applications under open schemes. The register is an information service reflecting decisions actually taken; it is the authoritative public view of those decisions.
2. What a record means
A register record states that a decision was made and what its current status is. A certificate is evidence that a decision was taken; it is not proof of current status — the record page and its status are the current truth, which is why every certificate links back to the register. Absence of a record means only that the federation has published no decision under that identifier.
3. Identifiers and marks
AIFD identifiers, certificate numbers, the IFAIFPA name, the IF symbol and the federation's marks remain the property of the federation. Nothing on this site grants a licence to present any organisation, work or person as accredited, recognised or certified. Presenting a suspended, revoked, expired or invented credential as valid is misrepresentation and will be treated as such.
4. Acceptable use
You may link to, quote and reproduce register facts and standards with attribution and without alteration. You may not forge or imitate marks or badges, misstate a status, interfere with the service, or republish register content in a way that misrepresents its meaning or currency. Automated access for verification is welcome within reasonable limits; bulk access will be served by a documented interface rather than scraping.
5. No warranty; liability
The service is provided as is. The federation does not warrant uninterrupted availability and, to the extent permitted by law, accepts no liability for loss arising from reliance on availability or from misuse of records by third parties. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
6. Law and venue
These terms are governed by Belgian law; the courts of Brussels have exclusive jurisdiction, the federation's secretariat being seated there. If a provision is held invalid, the remainder stands.
7. Changes
Changes to these terms are published on this page with a new effective date.
